Diane M. Laffen

Diane Mabel Laffen, 68, of Litchfield died after a courageous battle with heart disease on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Visitation will be held Friday, April 1st from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield. The Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 2nd at Cornerstone Church in Litchfield. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the Memorial Service at the church. Diane Mabel Laffen, the daughter of Albert and Mabel (Oslund) Erickson, was born on October 18, 1947 in Cokato. She grew up in the Litchfield area and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1965. She was married to Richard Harry Laffen in Litchfield on December 11, 1965. She lived in Litchfield and the surrounding area her entire life. After graduating from high and being married she worked at Finger Hut briefly before taking employment with 3M. She worked at 3M for over 30 years before retiring. Diane enjoyed playing cards and board games, especially Rummikub and Scrabble. She also very much enjoyed traveling and going camping. Diane loved the companionship of her pet dogs over the past forty years. Trips to Dog Park where a regular part of her routine. Diane was an active member of several groups including Red Hat Society, Card Club, West Central Christian Seniors, Christian Women's Club, and Cornerstone's Bible Study Fellowship. Probably most important to Diane was her family. She took great pride in her family and made many trips to attend her grandchildren's activities over the years. She became a Facebook user and loved how she could keep up daily with her grandchildren and great grandchild. She is survived by her son, Shane (and Nancy) Laffen of Sleepy Eye; grandchildren Joshua (and Meghan) Laffen, Mitchell Laffen, Lauren Laffen and Benjamin Laffen; great grandson Finley Laffen. She is also survived by her husband of 34 years Richard Laffen and her brother Dick Erickson. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Dean and Donnie Erickson.
