Dennis 'Denny' Pierce

Dennis N. 'Denny' Pierce, age 67, of Litchfield, died on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, MN. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home, Litchfield, MN, with Pastor Pat Thomas officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home on Saturday, November 1 and will continue one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Interment will be held at Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Pallbearers will be Darren Pierce, Derrick Pierce, Don Kilpela and Scott Ahl. Dennis Norman 'Denny' Pierce was born on June 7, 1941, to Norman and Linda (Day) Pierce in Belleville, Illinois. Denny received his education at the Belleville Township High School. He was united in marriage to Diane Keller on April 6, 1968 in Belleville, Illinois. He lived in Springfield, Illinois and later moved to Port Charlotte, Florida. Denny was a glazier throughout his working career, most recently employed from 1989 to 2007 by Punta Gorda Glass in Charlotte Harbor, Florida. He moved to Litchfield in 2007. Denny was a courageous and selfless man who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and watching the Chicago Bears, the St. Louis Cardinals, and Nascar. Dennis is survived by his wife Diane of Litchfield; children Darren Pierce of Litchfield, Keli (and Don) Kilpela of Litchfield, Derrick Pierce of Bradenton, Florida, Denise Campbell of Belleville, Illinois and Deanna Grass of Belleville, Illinois; 4 grandchildren Kristen, Megan, Austin and Phillip; and a brother Stephen Pierce of Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents Norman and Linda; mother-in-law Loretta Schaefer and father-in-law Edgar Keller.
