Dennis M. Hanson, age 72, of Jackson died on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Hospice House in Omaha. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at 1:30 PM at the Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.
Dennis Milroy Hanson, the son of Arthur and Ellen (Wickstrom) Hanson, was born on July 31, 1944, in Willmar, Minnesota. He grew up and attended school in Willmar. Following school Dennis started working for the veterinary clinic. On June 7, 1969 he married Margaret ""Marge"" Frank in Willmar. They moved to St. Cloud and lived for three years before moving to Osseo. they returned to Willmar and Dennis worked first as a welder for West Central Steel and then for Palm Industries. In 1981 they moved to Darwin. He worked more than eight years for Riebe Sod before switching to Polydome. In 2004 he moved to Jackson and worked for Hitch Doc until he retired in 2010. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed shooting. He was a member of the Jackson Rod and Gun Club. He also enjoyed trips to the casino, smoking cigarettes and pitching horseshoes.
He is survived by his children, Chad Hanson and Lynae Hanson both of Litchfield; grandchildren, Travis (and Miracle) Hanson and Courtney Hanson. He is also survived by his brother Wayne Hanson of Willmar; sister-in-law Phyllis Hanson of Willmar, nephew Steve (and Shirley) Hanson and niece LaVonne (and Ira) Barnard, Judith Carter and great niece's and nephew's. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Arlow Hanson and his wife June and Ronald Hanson, sister Elda Nelson and her husband Dick, infant sister Shirley Ann, nephews Donald and Doug Nelson, sister-in-law Arilla Hanson.Previous Events
