Denise L. Otremba, age 70 of Litchfield, MN died on Sunday February 2, 2020 at the St. Cloud Hospital after a prolonged illness, surrounded by her loving family. A Celebration of Life and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday February 11, 2020 at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Denise LeAnne Otremba, the daughter of Harvey Rathbun and Phyllis (Schipper) Peterson was born on September 13, 1949 in Minneapolis, MN. Denise grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from High School in Cosmos. She moved to the family farm in Cedar Mills, MN in 1963. She was united in marriage to James Otremba Sr. in Litchfield, MN on July 7, 2007. Throughout her life, Denise worked at the Meeker County Memorial Hospital; with the Reserve Deputy Sheriff and was an apartment manager before retiring at age 63. Denise was a member of the Church of St. Philip and active with the VFW Auxiliary and the Rainbow Singers. She enjoyed coloring, fishing, archery, putting puzzles together, playing games on her tablet and spending time with her friends and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband James Otremba Sr. of Litchfield, MN; daughter Dayna (Mike) Schreifels of Watkins, MN; grandchildren Payton, Ashlyn, Jordyn and Rylan Schreifels; siblings Diane Koepp of Correll, MN and Duane (Dianne) Rathbun of Soldotna, AK; stepchildren Angela Otremba and James (Kelly) Otremba II and his children Cullen and Evan; special friend Joyce Kindseth; former husband Jeff Sullivan; and her dogs Buddy and Rusty. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant son Bradley Sullivan.
