DeLoris J. Celander

DeLoris June Celander, age 90, of Litchfield, MN, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Meeker Manor in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at 11:00 AM, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, MN, with Pastor John Pasche officiating. Visitation will be at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, MN from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday and will continue one hour prior to the service at Peace Lutheran Church. Interment will be held at Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield, MN DeLoris J. Celander was born on June 15, 1927, in Trosky, MN in Pipestone County, to Carl and Vera Graphenteen. She was united in marriage on June 12, 1954 to Clarence Celander in Eagle Bend, MN. She lived in Pipestone, MN and attended school their until 1940, and then moved to Bertha, MN where she finished her schooling. She worked in Minneapolis until 1954 when she married Clarence. In 1957 she and her husband moved to Forest City, MN, where her husband operated and managed the creamery, and DeLoris did the bookkeeping. Then in 1965, they moved to Litchfield, MN, where Clarence managed the Litchfield creamery and eventually worked for First District Association. DeLoris worked with Carlson Marketing Co. for many years. In Litchfield she was very active in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher, and release time teacher. She also belonged to the Women's Missionary League for many years. She enjoyed being with family, travelling, spending time at the cabin, and crocheting. DeLoris is survived by two sons, Randy (Sharon) of Litchfield, MN, Ronald (Theresa) of Otesgo, MN; four grandsons, Dustin (Ashley) Celander, Derek Celander, Timothy Celander, Johnathan Celander; three brothers, Palmer (Dorothy) Graphenteen of Crystal, MN, Carl Jr. (Linda) Graphenteen of Minneapolis, MN, Gary (Rosie) Graphenteen of Litchfield, MN; two sisters, Mary (Fritz) Levenhagen of Blue Earth, MN, Patty Mahoney of Las Vegas, NV; Sisters-in-law, Joan Graphenteen of Sartel, MN Marion Graphenteen of Brainerd, MN; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; four brothers, including an infant brother; one sister; three brothers-in-law and 3 sister-in-laws DeLoris’s family would like to give a special thank you to DR. Haiwick, Meeker Memorial Hospital Third Floor Nurses and staff and Ecumen Hospice in Litchfield, MN.
