David Larson

David E. Larson, age 59, of Watkins, MN, died on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. A memorial gathering will be held from 6:00 - 8:30 PM on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, MN. David Ernest Larson, the son of Ernest and Dorothy (Peterson) Larson, was born on June 28, 1950 in St. Cloud, MN. He grew up in the Kingston area, attending country school in District 1073 and later in Cokato, MN. He continued to live in the Kingston and surrounding area his entire life. Dave made his living as an auto mechanic and working for various road construction companies. He enjoyed being at his home and would often be found working outdoors in his yard and playing solitaire with cards. He also enjoyed cars, music, watching NASCAR and spending time with his family and friends. Dave fought a courageous battle with cancer for many years and loved life until the end. Dave is survived by his parents Ernie and Dorothy Larson of South Haven, MN; longtime companion Jill Knickerbocker of Watkins, MN; daughters Anne (and Lance) Wiggert of Hutchinson, MN; Michelle (and Steve Nelson) Larson of Litchfield, MN and their children Aili and Helena Nelson; and Holly (and Jeff ) Laway of Litchfield, MN and their children Layne, Hannah and Aidan Nelson; 5 brothers John, Loren, Mike, Tom and Bob; and sisters Karen, Deanna, Gail and Mariann. He is also survived by brothers and sisters in law, many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
