Danny Don Olson

Danny D. Olson, age 47, of Litchfield, MN passed away surrounded by his loved ones. Only after exhausting every effort in his battle against cancer did he succumb to it on Monday, December 4, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday December 8, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday at the church and will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Danny Don Olson, the son of Donald and Norma (Schmeling) Olson was born in Hutchinson, MN on December 14, 1969. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos, MN. He graduated from Cosmos High School in 1988. He continued his education at the Hutchinson Technical Institute. Dan worked at HTI for three years. He then was employed by 3M for 25 years as a Sr. Tool & Die Technician . On August 14, 1993, he was united in marriage to LeAnn Hoff at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills. This marriage was blessed with four beautiful daughters. He was an active member of St. Johns, serving as a Deacon and on the Endowment Committee. Dan enjoyed the outdoors through hunting, fishing and camping. He took pride and enjoyment in training his labs for hunting. His most beloved time was spent with his wife and daughters. Whether watching his daughters sports and activities, or including them in his deer hunting, they were the most important part of his life. Danny is survived by his wife LeAnn Olson of Litchfield, MN; daughters Erika Olson, Kirsta Olson, Janessa Olson and Olivia Olson; brother Jamie (Kris) Olson of Atwater, MN; mother-in-law Donna Hoff of Litchfield; brothers-in-law Donn (Darcy) Hoff of Darwin and Kevin (Jill) Hoff of Hutchinson. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Shelby (Adam) Haman, Brittany (Matt) Wroge, Tim, Tye, and Tanner Olson, Kayla, Mariah, and Connor Hoff, Justin and Hallie Hoff. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Norma Olson and father-in-law Dennis Hoff.
