Dale Holler

Dale C. H. Holler Sr., age 84, of Litchfield, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2011, at the Lodge on Natchez in Elko, MN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Military honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Interment will be in Lake Ripley Cemetery. Dale Clare Henry Holler Sr., the son of Frank and Gladys (Gjerde) Holler, was born on April 5, 1927 in Langford, South Dakota. He received his education in a country school in Pierpont, South Dakota. Dale moved to Minnesota in 1961 and later to Litchfield in 1987. He was a truck driver for the Red Owl grocery stores and also farmed. He entered the U.S. Army in 1950 and served our country in the 45th Infantry Division (The Thunderbirds) during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. He was a life member of the V.F.W. and enjoyed collecting John Deere toy tractors and memorabilia, walking, exercising, going to car shows and driving... everywhere. He is survived by his sons, Dale Holler, Jr. of Apple Valley, MN and Kevin (and Valerie) Holler, Sr. of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Theandra (and boyfriend Sean), Kevin Jr. and Silvia; two brothers and 2 half-brothers. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Gladys; former wife Helen and daughter Lynnette.
