Gordon, age 87, of Litchfield died on Friday, October 16, 2020, at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the Zion Lutheran Church. Family and friends may gather at the church one hour prior to the services to be seated. A private family burial will take place later. Military honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Dale Howard Gordon, the son of Luman and Pauline (Sopowiak) Gordon, was born on December 12, 1932 in Dassel. He grew up in Dassel and graduated from Dassel High School in 1950. He worked for a few years before entering the US Army. He served until January of 1955. On June 5, 1955, he was united in marriage to Mavis Boettcher in Hutchinson. They lived in Minnetonka sor a few years before moving to Ridgedale and then to Dassel. They moved to Buffalo and lived there for 16 years before moving to a small hobby farm near South Haven where Dale ran an Antique shop. After that they lived in a few apartments in Buffalo and Rockville before buying a home in Litchfield in 2011. Dale was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Litchfield Military Honor Guard, the American Legion and VFW. He was also a member of the Marine Corp League and the DAV. Dale enjoyed music and played in a band for 26 years playing country western and Polkas. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, taking care of his automobile and yard and spending time with his favorite dog, Max. He is survived by his wife Mavis Gordon of Litchfield, children Michelle (Marty) Eggersgluss of Buffalo, Spencer (Riza) Gordon of Philippines, Jason Gordon of St. Paul, grandchildren Ellisa Bleess, Ray Wurm, Aaron Eggersgluss, Megan Jenson, Cory Gordon, Rachel Gordon, Mayme Gordon, Jessica Gordon, Brittany Frank, and 13 great grandchildren. Dale is also survived by his brothers Merle Gordon of Dassel and Lee Gordon of Phoenix. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jeffery Gordon, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
