Crystal V. Ebnet (Brovold) was called home by her Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 13 at the age of 76. Crystal was born on August 21, 1941, in Clarkfield, MN to Benford and Thelma Brovold (Dagel). She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd and graduated as Valedictorian of her class from Boyd High School in 1959.
She completed a degree in Elementary Education at Bemidji State University and begin teaching 3rd grade at Wagner School in Litchfield that fall. While there she met fellow teacher Ron Ebnet, fell in love and they were married at St. Philip's Catholic Church in Litchfield on August 19, 1967. This union was blessed with two girls, Kelly in 1970 and Kerry in 1973.
In 1977 she began the second phase of her teaching career when she took a position as 5th grade teacher at the School of St. Philip where she taught for 25 years. She was a great teach er who taught her students how to study and how to learn.
Crystal was very active in her community and her church. She organized and directed the first children's choir at St. Philip's and was a member of the Adult Choir. She served as a Cantor, Lector, Eucharistic Minister and also was a member of the Liturgy and Environment Committee for many years.
She retired in 2000. She and Ron spent their retirement years traveling and working in their many flower and vegetable gardens making their yard a showplace in the neighborhood. She loved playing cards and nothing put a bigger smile on her face then a slam in Bridge.
Crystal is survived by her husband of fifty years, Ron, her daughters, Kelly of Cold Spring and Kerry (Chris) Herker of Sartell, 3 grandchildren-Lauren, Molly and Luke Herker, her brother Jan (Sandy) and three nephews, Trevor, Travis and Troy Brovold.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Monday, February 19, at St. Philip's Catho lic Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be at the church on Sunday, February 18, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm with a 7:30 PM Prayer Service. Visitation will continue at the church from 9:30-10:30 am the day of the service. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
