Craig Alan Faber

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Craig Faber, 42, of Galena, AK, formerly of Watkins will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. Craig passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013. Fr. John Brunner and Fr. Richard Gross will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Watkins. Friends may call from 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Ertl Funeral Home, Watkins. Parish prayers will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Craig was born on December 30, 1970 in Golden Valley, MN to Kenneth and Lorraine (Majerus) Faber. He graduated from Eden Valley – Watkins High School in 1989. Craig worked at Cold Spring Granite for several years prior to moving to Wasilla, Alaska where he resided for 8 years. Craig then moved to Galena, Alaska where he resided to the present time. Craig was employed as an oil driller for Nabors Drilling Co. in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. He married Roberta Demoski on July 28, 2007 in Galena, Alaska. Roberta passed away on April 3, 2013. Craig enjoyed moose, elk, caribou, and buffalo hunting and salmon and halibut fishing. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his step-daughters, Claudia and Mary Demoski of Galena, AK; parents, Ken and Lorraine Faber of Watkins, brothers, Mark (Jerri) Faber of Watkins, Allen (Becca) Faber of Cold Spring, Keith (friend, Jeanne Olson) Faber of Watkins; nephews, Brandon, Ayden and Nolen Faber; aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta; grandparents, Edmund and Irene Faber, Herbert and Ida Majerus; aunt, Marlene Utecht and uncle, Kenny Utecht.
