Connie Pearson

E. Constance (Connie) Pearson, age 90 of Litchfield, MN died on Monday August 13, 2018 at the Meeker Manor Rehabilitation Center in Litchfield, MN. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday August 18, 2018 at the Litchfield United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday August 17 at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral and Cremation Service, 125 S. Armstrong Avenue, Litchfield, MN and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Interment will be held at Ripley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution to the Litchfield United Methodist Church, Ecumen of Litchfield Home Care and Hospice, or the Compassion International child feeding organization. E. Constance Pearson, the daughter of Karl and Emma (Berg) Nesset was born on March 29, 1928 in Devils Lake, ND. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Connie graduated from Devils Lake High School in 1946. She spent a year at home working for an optometry practice, then enrolled in the three-year Registered Nurses program at Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, graduating class of 1950. During her working years she was employed by the Litchfield Clinic and was a part-time nurse at the Meeker County Memorial Hospital. Connie met the love of her life, Donald Pearson, and they married on September 16, 1950 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. This marriage was blessed with four children — Mark, Karen, Lowell and Linda. Don and Connie farmed in the Rosendale area until 1986, when they moved to Litchfield. She was an active member of the Rosendale United Methodist Church for 36 years and continued to be a part of the church when they transferred to the Litchfield United Methodist Church. Farming years provided many happy times, school sports events, 4-H, saddle club and being part of the children’s lives in every way. Later she and Donald enjoyed following activities of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Connie’s in-law children Barb, Kim, Gary and Jim, were so very important to her, too. Connie is survived by her husband Donald of Litchfield, MN; children Mark (Barbara) Pearson of Annandale, VA, Karen (Gary) Poortvliet of Comfrey, MN, Lowell (Kim) Pearson of Hutchinson, MN and Linda (Jim) Johnson of White Bear Lake, MN; grandchildren Preston (Andrea) Pearson, Nate (Jenny) Pearson, Beth (Brady) Warrick, Jodi (Damon) Bilitz, Greta (Tyler) Olson, Tyler (fiancé Emily) Pearson, Hannah (Alex Ortiz) Pearson, and Annie Johnson; 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Vernon Pearson, and many dear nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Karl and Emma; and siblings Beatrice, Carl, Ralph and Lloyd.
