Clemence John Wimmer

Clemence John Wimmer, age 81, of Litchfield passed away peacefully on November 3, 2013, at Emmanuel Home in Litchfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. A parish prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 8:00 PM Wednesday. Interment will be in the St. Gertrude Catholic Cemetery in Forest City. Clem Wimmer was born at home in Forest City Township on May 28, 1932 to John and Elizabeth (Ertl) Wimmer. He was baptized June 5, 1932 at the Church of St. Gertrude in Forest City and was confirmed at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield. He attended grade school at District #2 in Forest City and Litchfield Public School. Clem was united in marriage on July 12, 1952 to Gloriette Rosenow at the Church of St. Gertrude in Forest City. Clem always enjoyed being a part of the dairy business. He was employed at the Forest City Creamery from 1948-1952, and then was employed by G.A ""Jiggs"" Kielty Trucking. In May of 1953, he purchased the milk truck and can milk route from Kielty. He sold the trucking business in 1962 and became a dairy farmer until retiring in 1992. Clem enjoyed fishing, dancing, playing cards, snowmobiling, and camping. He also enjoyed driving his horses. Clem loved to spend time with his family, especially his grand children. Clem was a charter member of the Forest City Threshers Association where he participated in events with his draft horses. Clem is survived by his wife Gloriette of Litchfield; children, Thomas Wimmer of Litchfield, Ralph (and Sherrie) Wimmer of Eden Valley, Suzanne (and Adrian) Meyer of Watkins, Lynn (and Mike) Anderson of Litchfield, and Karen Wimmer of Willmar; 12 grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, 13 great grandchildren, 2 step-great granddaughters; siblings, Genevieve Hemmesch, Isabel Anglin, Hildegard Ornberg all of Litchfield, Valaria Schmit of elk River, Donald (and Marilyn) Wimmer of St. Cloud, John (and Joan) Wimmer of Litchfield, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Delores Asfeld,; infant brother, Ralph; brothers-in-law, Lewis Larson, Joseph Hemmesch, Lester Anglin, Arnold Ornberg Donald Asfeld and Robert Schmit; and great grandson, Kurdt Anderson.
