Clarice A. Kruger, age 88, of Litchfield died on Saturday morning, February 4, 2012 at Ecumen of Litchfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 7th at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Clarice Adell Kruger, the daughter of Clarence and Alice (Gulso) Rice, was born on September 14, 1923 in Watkins, MN. She received her education in Kimball and graduated from Kimball High School in 1941. She continued her education for one year following high school and became a school teacher. In 1943, she was married to Allen Schultz in Forest City. She lived in rural Watkins and taught in various rural district schools in the Forest City area before taking a teaching position in Kimball. After five years of teaching in Kimball, she began teaching elementary school in Litchfield. She returned to college and received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from St. Cloud State University. Allen passed away in April 1971. She married Stanley Kruger in June, 1972. They moved from the farm near Watkins to Litchfield. She taught in Litchfield for twenty years before retiring. While living near Watkins she was a member of St. Matthews Church in Forest City. She then attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Litchfield before becoming a member of First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. She was a member of WELCA and the Quilters group. She was a member of the Eagle's Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, and the outdoors. She especially enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She spent time with her mother, making it easier for her mother to remain in her home in her later years. She also spent many hours with her brother George, sometimes simply sitting with him to give him support. She is survived by her son Ralph (and Judy) Schultz of Kimball, step-children, Lorie Fischer of Litchfield, Sharon (and Neil) Meyer of Lake Park, MN, and Carol (and Elbert) Minchey of Litchfield, grandsons, Kirk (and Jeanie) Schultz, Kevin (and Lorina) Schultz, step-grandchildren, Barb (and Jeff) Unterburger, Lisa (and Wade) Gerten, Brian (and Sue) Gustafson, Todd Hoelmer, Jon (and Nan) Hoelmer, Sarah Anderson and Mark Fischer, 4 great grandchildren and 10 step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Clarence ""Gene"" (and Jan) Rice of Kimball and Jerry (and Delores) Rice of Watkins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Allen Schultz and Stanley Kruger, brother George and step-son Stanley Kruger Jr, and son-in-law Leland Fischer.Previous Events
