Clarence Speiser

Clarence H. Speiser, 81, of Litchfield, MN, died on Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 10:30AM, at the Church of St. Philip, with Father Joseph Steinbeisser celebrating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, May 10, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a parish prayer service at 7:00 PM. Interment will be held at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Clarence Herbert Speiser, the son of Herbert and Mae (Kimpling) Speiser, was born in Maynard, MN on June 26, 1928. He received his education at St. Clara’s Parochial School in Clara City, MN and served in the US Navy from 1945 to 1947. On November 15, 1950, Clarence was united in marriage to Delores Forcier at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Willmar, MN. Throughout his life he lived in Maynard, Willmar, St. Cloud, Clearwater, Kingston and Litchfield, MN. He was an electrician and a member of the Local 343 and 292. He was also a member of the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield, a lifetime member of the Kimball American Legion and a long time Boy Scout leader from 1962 to 2000 in Clearwater, MN, St. Cloud, MN and Litchfield, MN. He enjoyed spending time outdoors in his garden and tending flowers, especially iris. He also enjoyed playing cards, dancing and making wooden toys for his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Delores of Litchfield, MN; children Mary (and LeRoy) Allord of St. Cloud, MN and Kevin (and friend Lori) Speiser of Duluth, MN; daughter-in-law Julie (and Jim) Fey of Litchfield, MN; 8 grandchildren Wanda (and Jeff) Kuechle, Brenda (and Rick) Grates, Nikki (and Martin) Elwell, Colleen (and fiance Sean) Bibeau, Chad Bibeau, Jenna (and fiance Adam) Bibeau, Tanner Allord and Tanya Allord; 9 great grandchildren Zachary, Bryce, Madeline, Tori, Jacob, Isaac, Starsha, Davin and Jordan; sisters Eleanor (and Joe) Klaasson of Clara City, MN, Carol Schipnewski of Clara City, MN and Sharon (and Harlan) Dragt of Willmar; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Mae; son Vern; and brother Cecil.
