Clara Agnes Casey

Clara A. Casey, age 98, died on Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Dassel Lakeside Home. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. John's Catholic Church in Darwin. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. Clara Agnes Casey was born on April 27, 1916, to Frank and Sophia (Gabrelcik) Pollock at the family home North of Darwin in Meeker County and was born into Eternal Life on January 11, 2015. She attended Elementary school at District 15 and moved to Litchfield at the age of 14 to work for her room and board so she could attend the Litchfield High School where she graduated from. After High School she lived and worked in Grove City before returning to Litchfield. On June 29, 1938 she married William (Bill) A. Casey and they spent their years together on the Casey Family Farm on Lake Stella. Mrs. Casey was a true ""daughter of the Heartland of America"" gardening, sewing, canning, all the things a farmers wife did and very much enjoyed fishing. She was a great baker and she received a Blue Ribbon on her homemade bread at the State Fair one year. She had a happy and quiet disposition and a strong faith. She served as the President of the St. John's Catholic Church Alter and Rosary Society and District 13 Mother's Club. Clara is survived by her daughters and sons, John (Barbara) Casey, Margaret (Jim) Langfeld, Claire (Walter) Matthews, Bill (Josephine) Casey, 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, sister Helen Miller, and a sister-in-law Francis Pollock. Clara was preceded in death by her husband William in 1975, parents John and Sophia Pollock, two sisters, Lucy Smith and Irene Bell and two brothers, Clarence and Jim Pollock.
