Chester 'Chet' L. Holmberg

Chester (Chet) L. Holmberg, age 84, of Litchfield, MN, died Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at his home in Litchfield, MN. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 17 at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be Sunday, July 16 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at First Lutheran Church, Litchfield, Minnesota and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held in Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, Minnesota. Chester (Chet) Lawrence Holmberg, son of Lawrence and Ida (Nelson) Holmberg was born July 27, 1932 in Harvey Township, Meeker County, Minnesota. Chet was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Grove City, Minnesota. He attended District 75 Meeker County School and graduated from Grove City High School in 1949. Chet married Barb Hanson on October 7, 1961. They are members of First Lutheran Church in Litchfield, Minnesota. Chet and Barb had two children, Jane and Jeff making their home in Litchfield where Chet managed the Litchfield Lumber Company. Chet is survived by his wife Barb, his daughter Jane (Joel) Meyer, grandchildren Kjerstin Meyer and Nic Meyer, his son Jeff (Anne) Holmberg, grandchildren Addison, Lucy and Ryan Holmberg. He is survived by sister-in-law Darlene Holmberg and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Ida (Nelson) Holmberg, sister Ardis Anderson and brothers Wesley Holmberg and Allen Holmberg. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
