Cathy A. Haugo, age 65 of Litchfield, MN passed away on Tuesday December 10, 2024 at her home in Litchfield, MN. A memorial service will be held to honor her memory at 11:00 AM on Monday December 16, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Sunday December 15, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Cathy Ann Haugo, the daughter of Richard and Marianne (Shäfer) LeFebre was born on May 11, 1959 in Springfield, MN. Cathy graduated from Springfield High School in 1977 and furthered her education in dental hygiene at Mankato State University. She was united in marriage to James Haugo in November 24, 1984 at the Oakwood United Methodist Church on New Ulm, MN. Cathy practiced dental hygiene for many years until 1994, when she transitioned to raising her family. She was a devoted mother and loved her family fiercely. There was nothing more important to Cathy than her family.
She was a motivational and influential WeightWatcher leader in Litchfield and the surrounding area, earning the title of Minnesota WeightWatcher leader of the year. Cathy was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield and was a faith-filled woman. She was confident in her decisions and jumped at an opportunity to help family, friends, and strangers alike. She served her community by volunteering at Meeker Memorial in the cardiac rehabilitation unit, sat on the LDC youth hockey board, trained lifeguards through the American Red Cross, and served the Litchfield Marching Band as band booster chair. She was passionate about healthy living, having run the Disney Marathon as one of her many accomplishments. Cathy was a talented musician and shared her talents by playing clarinet in the Litchfield City Band, Prairie Winds Concert Band and Gilman Street Band at Zion. She was instrumental in making the Litchfield Parade of Bands a reality. Cathy loved being a full-time grandma and was often found in the stands at many softball, hockey, basketball, and football games. She delighted in playing with them and soaked up every moment together. She enjoyed traveling internationally, taking camper van trips to National Parks and spending time at the family cabin on Fox Lake in Cross Lake, MN.
Cathy is survived by her husband Jim of Litchfield, MN; children Tim (Jenna) Haugo of St. Michael, MN and their children Owen, Olivia and Grace; Rachel (Patrick) Johnson of Maple Grove, MN and their daughter Annie; and Ted (Mackenzie) Haugo of Medina, MN and their daughter Nora; mother Marianne LeFebre, siblings Larry (Kelly) LeFebre, Jay LeFebre and Cindy (Kraig) Westendorf.
She was preceded in death by her father Richard LeFebre.
She will be missed dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family will be making a monetary donation to the Zion Lutheran Endowment, the Litchfield Parade of Bands and Anderson Gardens of Litchfield.
