Bruce T. Phillips, age 77, of Litchfield, MN, died on Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield with a 5:00 PM prayer service. A private family service will be held on Friday with interment at the Paynesville Cemetery. Bruce Thomas Phillips, the son of Foster and Margaret (Trunt) Phillips was born in Litchfield, MN on March 28, 1934. He grew up in Litchfield, graduating from the Litchfield High School in 1952. He continued his education at St. John's University. He served in Korea in the US Army. He was united in marriage to Mary Morgan at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield, MN in 1958. He moved to St. Paul and worked as an accountant for Booth Cold Storage. In 1960, he moved to Long Prairie, where he was an accountant for the Browerville Milk Plant. He returned to Litchfield in 1962 where he worked as an independent accountant until he retired. Bruce was a member of the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield and the Old Timers Baseball League. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved playing his old record albums. He is survived by his wife, Mary of North Carolina; children, Michael (and Nancy) Phillips of Litchfield, MN, Lee Phillips of Colorado and Laura Gilbertson of North Carolina; 5 grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, Jonathan, Jacob and Kayla; brother, Frank (and Barb) Phillips of Wisconsin and nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Foster and Margaret and son Robert J. There will be a private family funeral service in Litchfield and burial in Paynesville.
