Bonnie LaVonne Simenson

Bonnie L. Simenson, age 73, of Kimball died on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at the Lakeside Care Center in Dassel. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at the All Saints Lutheran Church in Darwin. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery in Willmar at 1:30 PM. Bonnie LaVonne Simenson, the daughter of Benjamin and Jennie (Ritz) Hoffman, was born on December 5, 1940, on the family farm in Roseland Township, Kandiyohi County. She grew up near Blomkest and graduated from Danube High School. On September 21, 1957, she was united in marriage to Dellis Simenson in Blomkest. They lived a short time in New London and Atwater before moving to Darwin where they lived for twenty years. They then moved to their current home on a farm south of Kimball. Bonnie worked at 3M for a few years before working at American Time and Signal in Dassel for nearly 16 years. She also worked on the farm with Dellis. She loved to work and enjoyed the feeling of getting a project or task complete. She loved to stay busy through gardening flowers and vegetables. She was a wonderful cook and baker and always had time for her grandchildren and their activities. Bonnie was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Darwin. She is survived by her husband Dellis Simenson of Kimball, children, Deborah (and Doug) Walls of Cokato, Steve (and Lynn) Simenson of Darwin; grandchildren, Trista (and Eric) Carlson, Gina (and Corey) McIntire, Michael (and Vanessa) Simenson, Vickie Simenson, Erin Ring and Andrea Ring; great grandchildren, Cally Carlson, Cameron Ring and Ava Ring. She is also survived by her sister Janice Jirasek of Willmar, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
