Beverly Carlson

Beverly Carlson, age 81, of Litchfield died on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at the Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Church of the Nazarene in Litchfield. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00PM on Friday, April 10th at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Beverly K. Carlson was born on April 15, 1933, the daughter of Herman and Kathryn Hickler of Kandiyohi, Minnesota. After graduating from Litchfield High School in 1951, she worked for a year before attending Olivet Nazarene College in Kankakee, Illinois. She graduated from Olivet in 1956 with a degree in Education. She married Ted Carlson in 1959 and they moved to Austin, Minnesota where their three children were born. Bev taught school for four years in Austin. In 1971 they moved back to the farm that Bev grew up on near Litchfield. Bev worked at Teske Drug, Kids of the Kingdom Daycare, and Wagner Elementary School. Bev retired from Wagner Elementary School in 2004. She was involved in her church, enjoyed traveling, and keeping up with Litchfield High School Basketball. Bev is survived by her sons; Brad (and Donna) Carlson of Aloha, Oregon, and Dennis Carlson, of San Antonio, Texas, daughter Sandy Carlson, five grandsons, and one great-granddaughter; two sisters Maxine Nickerson and Sharon Durham and a brother, Duane Hickler.
