Beulah Marie Carlberg

Beulah M. Carlberg, age 92, of Litchfield died on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Ecumen of Litchfield. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Beulah Marie Carlberg, the daughter of Nels and Annie (Knutson) Larson, was born on February 28, 1920, in Acton Township, Meeker County, Minnesota. She graduated from Grove City High School in 1938. On May 13, 1939, she was united in marriage to Arnold Carlberg and they farmed near Mannanah until the fall of that year. They then moved and farmed near Hawick for two years. They again moved and farmed near Atwater for two years before moving to farm northeast of Grove City until 1949. In 1949 they moved to Litchfield and in 1951 they began working at the Litchfield Gamble Store. They worked there for 25 years retiring in 1976. They enjoyed traveling to all of the states in the U.S. and also to Europe. They enjoyed many years of retirement together and wintered for eight years in Arizona. Arnold died on April 23, 1992. After suffering a stroke in 1994 she moved into the Howard Lake Nursing Home. In 1995 she moved to Maple Lake to live with her niece Bonnie and husband Stoney Taylor. They thoroughly enjoyed each others company for the next ten years when Beulah moved to the Emmanuel Home in Litchfield. They continued their special relationship until the day of Beulah's passing. Beulah was a member of First Lutheran Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed travelling with Arnold and visiting with her many nieces and nephews. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and three ""special angels"": Heather, Dylan and Lily. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arnold, brothers Ray Larson, Clarence Larson, Rudy Larson, Harold Larson and Francis Larson and sisters Olive Reed, Alice Westby, and Lillian Peterson.
