Barbara Schmidt

Barbara M. Schmidt, age 49, of Litchfield died on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield with Pastor Paul Lindhorst officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 Pm on Tuesday, October 6th at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield. Barbara Marie Schmidt, the daughter of Edwin and Lida (Schroeder) Mackedanz, was born on October 2, 1960, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She grew up and attended school in Litchfield and then graduated from Dassel Cokato High School in 1979. While in high school, and shortly after, she worked for Sparboe Co. until she went to work for 3M. While working at 3M for 28 years she also enjoyed working at Super America in Litchfield for about nine years. She lived in Litchfield until 2003, when she was united in marriage to Stan Schmidt and they made their home on Lake Manuella. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Barb enjoyed the out doors, particularly fishing and camping. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed playing cards and board games with them. Barb is survived by her husband, Stan Schmidt of Litchfield, daughter, Tara (and Jerad) Tibbetts of St. Peter, brothers; Roy (and Suzanne) Mackedanz of Litchfield, Larry (and Tammy) Mackedanz of Stewart, Glenn (and Kate) Mackedanz of Litchfield, Harold (and Lisa) Mackedanz of Watkins and sister, Gloria (and Larry) Seefeldt of Litchfield. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Dustin Soderberg.
