Barbara Johnson

Barbara A. Johnson, age 69, died on February 2, 2010, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield with Pastor Harvey Nelson and Pastor Christian Muellereile. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Ness Cemetery. Barbara Ann Johnson was born on March 11, 1940 in Hayland Township, Minnesota the daughter of Nels and Olyve Flatebo. She grew up and received her education in Windom graduating in 1958. She was united in marriage to James Burdell Johnson on September 4, 1960 in Windom. Together they lived in St. Paul, Annandale, Willmar, Kandiyohi and Litchfield since 1973. She was a member of The Blue Star Mothers and of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed watching football where she was an armchair quarterback for the Vikings and Steelers. Barbara also enjoyed coin collecting, knitting, ceramics and music, especially Elvis. Barbara is survived by her children; Joel Johnson of Litchfield, MN, Jennifer (and Alan) Pecarina of Buffalo, MN, Mark (and Missy) Johnson of Dassel, MN, Eric Johnson of Litchfield, MN, Stephanie Johnson of Litchfield, MN, 12 grandchildren; Douglass Pecarina, Jessica Pecarina, Zachary Pecarina, Benjamin Pecarina, Allyson Pecarina, Vincent Pecarina, William Pecarina, Kenneth Pecarina, Justin Johnson, Tifani Johnson, Trinity Johnson and Christian Johnson, sisters; Marvis Brinegar of Round Lake Heights, IL, Melva Karkut of Pueblo West, CO, and half sister; Doris Thomas of Thornton, CO. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, twin grandsons Brent and Brandon Johnson and half sister Joyce Tollman.
