Audrey Mae Nordquist

Audrey M. Nordquist, age 84, of Litchfield, died on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Ecumen Emmanual Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield with Pastor Christa Forsythe officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at Johnson Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Private interment will be held in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Audrey Mae Nordquist the daughter of Albert and Hilda (Peterson) Johnson was born on December 27, 1928, in Greenleaf Township. She was baptized and confirmed at Ness Lutheran Church. Her family moved to the Forest City area in 1940 and Audrey graduated from Litchfield High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Raymond ""Bud"" Nordquist on February 10, 1948. They made their home in Litchfield and in 1974 moved to their Lake Koronis home. She worked for the Meeker County Agriculture Service after high school. In 1954 she began working for the Meeker County Register of Deeds Office where she worked for 7 years until she ran for the office of County Recorder in 1962 and won. She continued in this office until retirement in 1990. Audrey was a member of First Lutheran Church and hosted an annual quilting day for church women at her home. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, the Manannah Snow Blazers, the Lake Koronis Home Owners Association and was a Hospice Volunteer. She loved to spend time fishing, camping and taking pontoon rides with family and friends. Her joy was snowmobiling with her friends. Her favorite weather forecast was ""let it snow"". Audrey and Bud enjoyed annual travel throughout the western United States and Canada. Audrey also enjoyed attending social functions with her many special friends and will be remembered as a supportive, loving, caring aunt and friend. Audrey is survived by her nieces and nephews, Shirley (and Don) Rick of Litchfield, Dean (and Wanda Anderson) Johnson of Cambridge, Bonnie Thompson of Litchfield, Marlene (and Gary) Wilder of Howard Lake, Lee Johnson (and special friend Judy) of Litchfield, Herb Tulien of Litchfield and Dale Tulien of Litchfield. She is also survived by her great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, great great great niece and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband ""Bud"", parents, brothers and sisters, Mamie Johnson, Margaret Tulien, Harriet Cummins, John H. Johnson, Karl Johnson, Arthur Johnson and Edward O.
