Arthur C. Reilein, age 85 of Litchfield, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, Minnesota. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew's United Church of Christ, Forest City, Minnesota. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at St. Matthew's United Church of Christ and one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at Lake Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield. Arthur Charles Reilein, son of Arthur E. Reilein and Theresa (Borth) Reilein was born on June 27, 1927 in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He received his education in Hutchinson. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson. He was united in marriage to Alice Kuehl on May 21, 1949 in Litchfield, Minnesota. Together they lived in Mound and the Lake Minnetonka area until retirement in 1989 when they moved to their lake home on Clear Lake near Watkins, Minnesota. In 1999 they moved to their home in Litchfield and in March 2012, they moved to Emmaus Place. They belonged to the Crow River Sam's camping club and traveled from coast to coast and from Canada to Mexico in their travel trailer and motor home. They wintered in Lake Havasu City, Arizona for 12 years. Art worked for the Great Northern and Burlington Northern Railroad all his life, starting with delivering telegrams after school and during his lunch hour. Art finished his railroad career in the Track Maintenance Department, working on the Hutchinson, Minneapolis, and Willmar lines. He loved his railroad. Art was secretary/treasurer of the Boy Scouts of America in Island Park, MN, a member of the Methodist Men's Group in Mound, trustee at the church in Forest City, and a member of several bowling teams and card clubs. He enjoyed playing cards, going to auction sales in Redwood Falls, pheasant and deer hunting, bowling, camping, traveling, watching wrestling, baseball games, and working in his workshop making gifts for his family. He enjoyed spending time and traveling with his four girls. He was always ready to play cards with anyone that would pull up a chair around the table. He was so proud of his family and was eager to tell anyone about them. He is survived by his wife, Alice; daughters, Linda Hansen of Redwood Falls, MN, Sandra Duran of Long Lake, MN, Rhonda (Marcel) Gapinski, of Foley, MN, Glenda (Russell) Ridley of Watkins, MN; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandsons, 3 step-grandchildren, and 4 great-step-grandchildren; brother, Leonard of Winsted, MN and sister, Lorraine (Ray) Gordon of Minneapolis, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin great-granddaughters, and brothers, Clarence, Lloyd, Raymond and William.Previous Events
