Arnold M. Schmitz, 68, of Litchfield, MN, died on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Bethesda Nursing Home in Willmar, MN. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 10:00AM, at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, May 21 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at the Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Arnold Martin Schmitz, the son of Theodore and Veronica (Wolbeck) Schmitz, was born on March 8, 1942 in Callaway, MN. He was united in marriage to Carol Albaugh on August 3, 1963 in St. James, MN. Throughout his life he lived in Callaway, MN, Sauk Center, MN and Litchfield, MN. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on his hobby farm. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Carol of Litchfield, MN; children Priscilla Knight of Carthage, N.C., Denise Everson of Arlington, MN and Samantha (and Jason) Huberty of Watkins, MN; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers Wilford, Edmond, John, Sylvester, Edward and Edwin; and sisters Mary and Matilda. He is preceded in death by his parents; son Kerry and 4 grandchildren.
