Arnold H. Rosenau, age 84, of Litchfield, died on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City, MN with Pastor Thor Skeie officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, September 22 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery in Grove City, MN with Military Honors by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard.
Arnold Helmuth Rosenau, the son of John and Mayme (Wetenkamp) Rosenau, was born on February 7, 1924, in Truman, MN where he grew up and received his education. He lived in Willmar, MN, prior to being drafted into the US Army. Arnold served in the special services stationed in Japan. After the service he farmed in rural Grove City. Arnold was united in marriage with Phyllis Lundstrom on September 2, 1950, at First Lutheran Church in Grove City, MN. In 1967, Arnold and Phyllis sold the farm and moved to Hutchinson, MN. Arnold was employed at Green Giant in Glencoe, MN, until retiring in 1986.
Arnold enjoyed farming, fishing, deer hunting and had a special fondness for his cats and dogs.
Arnold is survived by his wife Phyllis, 10 children; Don (Lynn) Rosenau of Hector, MN, Dianna Young of Hutchinson, MN, Linda (Niel) Duesterhoeft of Hutchinson, MN, Shirley Dummer of Hutchinson, MN, Ray Rosenau of Hutchinson, MN, Paula Engebretson of Owatonna, MN, Bev (Mark) Gaspar of St. Loius Park, MN, Sandy (Rob) Voelkel of Brooklyn Park, Maryland, Janet (Herman) Buschel of Hutchinson, MN and Kathy Rosenau of Litchfield, MN, 33 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren. Also surviving him, are his brother, Arthur (Lavonne) Rosenau of Willmar, MN, sisters, Leona Kruger of Villard, MN and Arline Woltjer of Willmar, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, 2 sons in infancy, grandson Anthony Schmitz, great granddaughter Amelianna Rosenau, son-in-law Kerry Schmitz, 4 brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law. Also by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
