Arlyce Dedrickson

Arlyce Dedrickson, age 86 of Litchfield, MN died on Friday June 7, 2019 at the Hutchinson Health Center in Hutchinson, MN. A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday June 15, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday June 14, 2019 at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral and Cremation Service in Litchfield, MN. Interment will be held in Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. In lieu of flowers memorial are preferred to the First Presbyterian Church or the GAR Hall. M. Arlyce Rose Dedrickson, the daughter of John and Hildred (Quinn) Beerling was born on April 15, 1933 in Litchfield, MN. She grew up in Litchfield with her younger brother Robert Beerling and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1951. Litchfield is where she met her husband Bernell Dedrickson. They were high school sweethearts, and stayed that way until his death in 1998. They married July 21, 1951 at Naval Station Great Lakes in Chicago, IL. Shortly there after, Bernell who was in the Navy, was stationed in Boston for a few years and they had two children, David and Lynn. Next came several years stationed in Panama and then Hawaii. After all those moves with the Navy it was time to move back to Litchfield where she had two more children, Tracy and Libby. They then made moves to Beckville, MN, Olathe, KS, Redwing, MN, Litchfield, MN, Dundee, IL and finally Carmel, IN where they stayed for the next 25 years. While in Carmel she was very active with her church, Orchard Park, serving on several committees as well as on the session and also in charge of decorating the church for Christmas. Being an advocate of Hospice care, it was only natural for her to be part of it at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She enjoyed her co-workers and helping the patients. She also worked at Leppert Mortuary for a number of wonderful years. After Bernell passed away, Litchfield is where Arlyce wanted to be - home. Only with the help of family, including daughters Lynn and granddaughters and family friend Auggie Anderson, that move may never have happened. Once back in Litchfield she quickly got to work in community, being on the boards of Rosemary Home, GAR, the Presbyterian Church as well as a volunteer at the Meeker County Hospital and a member of the local book club, all of which she did for a number of years and enjoyed thoroughly. Arlyce loved her family and friends. Being blessed with a wonderful voice she was been able to share it with us in a number of choirs and singing groups over the years. She touched everyone she met and her absence is greatly noticed. Arlyce is survived by her daughters Tracy Dedrickson (Rik Holland) of New York, NY and Libby Dedrickson-Russell (Jose Cardenas) of Santa Barbara, CA; grandchildren Amanda Lounsbury (Chad Wilhprecht), Aurora Lounsbury (Gene Marschel), Thor Russell and Michelle (Jared) Grant; and great grandchildren Amber Foftervold, Arin Hamilton, Olivia Russell, Micah Russell and Maddox Russell; and brother Robert Beerling. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Hildred; husband Bernell; son David; and daughter Lynn.
