Arline Krug

Arline Krug, age 85, of Litchfield died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 26, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield with Pastor Paul Lindhorst and Pastor Tim Redfield officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Arline Carol Krug, the daughter of Arvid and Hazel (Finch) Rudberg was born December 14, 1926 in Kenosha, WI. At age 6, she moved to Litchfield with her family and attended Litchfield High School, graduating in 1944. She continued her education in Minneapolis as part of the Cadet Nurse Program, attending the Northwestern Hospital School of Nursing from 1944 - 1947. Arline was united in marriage to Robert Krug on January 27, 1951 at the Presbyterian Church in Litchfield. Together, they moved to rural Grove City, where they farmed until moving back to Litchfield in 1958. Arline worked at the Litchfield Hospital as a Registered Nurse until retiring in 1988. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and enjoyed knitting, embroidery, baking banana bread, and spending time with her family and friends. Arline is survived by her son Dean (and Cindy) Krug of Litchfield, MN; daughter Nancy (and Allen) Thorp of Grove City, MN; grandchildren; Ashley Krug of Mankato, MN, BrieyAnna Krug of Mankato, MN and Mandy (and Matthew) Kasowicz of Plymouth, MN; great grandchildren Anika Kasowicz and Harper Kasowicz; and sister Anne (and John) Mattsfield of Litchfield, MN and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Krug in 2009; grandson Brian Thorp in 2000 and niece Deirdre Mattsfield Anderson in 2010.
