Antolina Garcia, age 72, of Litchfield died on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Church of St. Philip with Father Joseph Steinbeisser celebrating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Litchfield.
Antolina Garcia, the daughter of Guadalupe and Jose Maria Garcia, was born on July 12, 1936 in Monterrey, Mexico. She grew up near Monterrey and then moved to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. She then lived in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Joliet, Illinois, and Laredo, Texas, before settling in Litchfield in 1987. She worked for Golden Plump from 1988 until 2001. Antolina attended Church at St. Philip in Litchfield. Her grandchildren were very important to her and she enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed cooking and eating. She will be remembered as being very sociable and making many friends.
Surviving Antolina are her children, Eduardo Jose (and Kristina) Garcia of Buffalo, Jose Inez Garcia of Litchfield; grandchildren, Sierra and Andreas Garcia; brother, Domingo Garcia of Litchfield; sisters, Margarita Garcia and Josephina (and Juan) Jiminez both of Litchfield. She is survived by other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Eduardo Garcia and Inez Garcia.
