Anna Mae Wigen

Anna Mae D. Wigen, age 83 of Litchfield, MN died on Sunday January 29, 2023 at Meeker Manor in Litchfield, MN.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday February 6, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 6:00 PM on Sunday February 5, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church and also one hour prior to the service at church.  Interment will be in Ripley Cemetery.

Anna Mae Dorothy (Rick) Wigen was born on March 25, 1939 to Edwin & Esther (Desens) Rick in Forest City township Litchfield, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Anna Mae graduated from Litchfield High School in 1957 and was united in marriage to Marlow Eugene Wigen on September 26, 1959 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She worked at the Northwestern Bell telephone Company from 1957 to 1961. Anna Mae and Marlow were proud owners of Wigen Seed Farm where they farmed together for 50 years. She and Marlow enjoyed traveling. They visited every state except Hawaii. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was active in the circles, Mission Sewing, taught Sunday School, and was on the Lay Ministry Board. She was also a 4-H leader and secretary of the Meeker County 4-H Livestock auction. She was a talented painter and taught painting classes for many years. Anna Mae loved time with her family and friends. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were very special to her.

Anna Mae is survived by her daughter, Marla (Ben) Thissen of Litchfield, Grandchildren, Jay (Ashley) Thissen of Sartell and Sara (Dustin) Koepke of Milbank, SD. Great Grandchildren, Lauren Thissen, Liam & Briggs Koepke. Sister, Darlene Lundin of Litchfield and Sister-in-laws, Marion Rick of Hutchinson and Brenda Rick of Litchfield and many nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Marlow; her parents, Edwin & Esther; brothers Wayne, Myron & Joel Rick and sister Shirley Smith.
