Ann J. Taylor, age 93, formerly of Litchfield, died on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the Buffalo Lake Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield, MN with Father Joseph Steinbeisser officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Hector, MN. Ann Josephine Taylor, the daughter of Joseph and Aloise (Dorok) Wosmek was born on April 27, 1918 in Bear Creek, south of Silver Lake, MN. She attended McLeod Country School near Hutchinson and was united in marriage to James Taylor on July 6, 1937 in Aitkin, MN. Together they farmed southwest of Hector before moving to Litchfield in 1967. Ann worked at Fingerhut in Bird Island and Litchfield and also at the Meeker Memorial Hospital and Butwin Manufacturing in Litchfield, before retiring in 1992. She became a resident of the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center in February 2007. She was a member of the Church of St. Philip, the Catholic Council of Women and the Daughters of Isabella. Ann was always surrounded by her many plants and flowers. She kept a large garden on the farm and had many houseplants and flowers wherever she lived. She enjoyed canning, preserving, cooking, baking and will be remembered for her kolaches. Ann loved reading several books at a time throughout the day and had hundreds of books that she enjoyed sharing. She made many quilts for family members and was known as an excellent seamstress who was often hemming and mending. She was a good storyteller and enjoyed doing word searches, collecting bird figurines and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Ann is survived by her children, Roger and Agnes (Aggie) Taylor of Hinkley, MN, Allyn (and Mary) Taylor of Buffalo Lake, MN and Patricia Taylor (and Douglas Stubeda) of St. Paul, MN; 3 grandchildren, Mark (and Lisa) Taylor, James (and Dawn) Taylor and Elizabeth (and Tim) Haycraft; 8 great grandchildren, Nicholas Taylor, Alex Taylor, Kelsey Taylor, Lukas Taylor, Makenzie Taylor, Carter Haycraft, McKinley Haycraft and Channing Haycraft; brother Bill (and Fern) Wosmek of Robbinsdale, MN and Agnes Shofner of Brainerd, MN.
