Amaryllis Reeves

Amaryllis R. Reeves, age 78, of Litchfield, died on April 4, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN. Memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, April 9, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church, Litchfield, MN, with Pastors Harvey Nelson and Christian Muellerleile officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church. Internment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Amaryllis Ruth Reeves was born to Levi and Alice (Johnson) Samuelson on April 11, 1931 in New Ulm, Minnesota. She attended school in New Ulm graduating in June of 1949, she continued her education at Gustavus Adolphus graduating in 1953. She was united in marriage to David Reeves on September 12, 1954 in Lafayette, MN. Together they lived in the Twin Cities area before moving to Litchfield in 2001. She worked for Turtle Mountain Corporation in St. Paul, MN for 22 years retiring in December of 2000. She was a member of the Quilt Club, Horticulture Society and Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking, quilting and needle work. Survivors include her husband David Reeves of Litchfield, MN, nieces; Darla Okeson of Grove City, MN and Donna (Lynn) Luchsinger of New Richmond, WI, sisters-in-law; Doris Samuelson of Two Harbors, MN and Mary Reeves of Salem, OR, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother L. Darwin Samuelson.
