Allan L. Slinden, age 88, of Litchfield, died on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at the Meeker Manor Rehabilitation Center. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 4, 2020, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery near Atwater.
Allan LeRoy Slinden, the son of Peter and Anna (Jacobson) Slinden, was born on December 1, 1931, in Atwater. He graduated from the Atwater High School in 1949. He farmed with his family for a few years and then worked at the state hospital in Willmar. In 1961, he moved to the cities and worked for St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee. He was married to Cleo Danubeck and later Marion Willman. Allan moved to Utah, Wyoming, Iowa, Nevada and North Dakota working as a Respiratory Therapist. He moved to Litchfield in 2004. Allan earned his pilot’s license at age 16 after his solo flight on his sixteenth birthday. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
He is survived by his son Richard Slinden of Cokato and daughter Shelly. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marion, daughter Gail, siblings Halvin Slinden, Clara Johnson, Burton Slinden, Pelvin Slinden, Irvin Slinden and Mildred Christianson.
