Alice L. Von Ende, age 90, of Litchfield, MN, died on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Meeker Memorial Hospital, Litchfield, MN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 8, 2009 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Kingston, MN with Pastor Mike Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Fort Snelling, MN at a later date.
Alice Lenore Von Ende, the daughter of Alfred and Elsie (Wynne) Bolduc, was born at home in the family residence on Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 5, 1918. She grew up and received her education in Deerwood, MN and Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from Miller Vocational School as a seamstress and fitter. She was united in marriage to Robert Von Ende on January 2, 1943 in Minneapolis, MN. She worked as a seamstress and fitter in the Minneapolis, MN area at Harold’s, John W. Thomas Company, and at Young and Quinlan. In 1972 she and Robert moved to a home in Kingston, MN on the Crow River. Alice later moved to the Dassel Lakeside Apartments where she lived for one year before moving to the Emmanuel Home in Litchfield. She was an active member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Kingston Senior Citizens Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. Alice enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sewing, cooking, canning, crocheting and volunteering.
Alice is survived by her children Ruth (and Bill) Knight of Burnsville, MN, Katherine “Kay” (and Steve) Clark of San Juan Capistrano, CA, Carol (and Bill) Linn of Moneta, VA, and Mary Mielke of Winter Springs, FL; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Elsie; husband Robert; brother Wilfred “Bud” Bolduc; sister Cecilia St. Anthony; brother-in-law Rudy St. Anthony and sister-in-law Helen Bolduc.
