Alfred 'Pete' Rudolph Hoefs

Alfred R. 'Pete' Hoefs, age 90, of Litchfield, MN, died on Thursday October 25, 2012 at the Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, MN. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, October 28 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home, Litchfield, MN. Interment will be at Lake Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield, Minnesota. Alfred Rudolph Hoefs, the son of Edwin and Alice (Barclay) Hoefs, was born May 30, 1922 in Warroad, Minnesota. He grew up in Meeker County and received his education at country school. Pete then began farming with his father and continued farming after the death of his father. In addition to farming, he did trucking and sold Christmas trees for over 40 years. He married Leona Hoecke on February 16, 1968 Leona died in 1983. He was united in marriage to Lois Jensen in Montevideo, MN, on June 23, 1984. He was a member of the Cedar Mills Lions Club, Cedar Mills Gun Club and Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, MN. He enjoyed fishing, elk and deer hunting and visiting. He is survived by his wife Lois, step children Marvin (and Gayle) Jensen of Montevideo, MN, Kathy (and Neal) Weckwerth of Cottonwood, MN, and Betty (and Geno) Passmore of Paynesville, MN, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and nieces and nephews, sisters Ella Paana of Farmington Hills, Michigan and Alma Omera of Fergus Falls, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Leona, stepdaughter Susan Klander and step son Stanley Jensen.
