Adeline R. Stitz, age 92, of Litchfield, MN, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, MN. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 7, 2013. The Rev. DeWayne Kayser will officiate at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Madison, South Dakota. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the church and will continue one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be at the St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery. Adeline Rose Stitz was born on January 19, 1921 in Wilmont, MN to Mathias and Francis (Hippert) Weinzetl She was baptized January 20, 1921 at the St. Kilian Catholic Church in Minnesota by Father Joseph Schneider. Adeline went to school in Iona, MN. She worked various jobs before marrying Edmund J. Stitz on May 9, 1939 at the Iona Catholic Church. They lived in Iona until 1949; in Vienna, SD until 1969 and then in Madison, SD. Adeline worked at different jobs throughout her married life. She was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Madison, SD. Adeline belonged to Royal Neighbors and the Milwaukee R.R. Ladies group until only 2 members remained. Adeline organized a rosary making group through St. Thomas. The group made rosaries for missions throughout the world. She provided daycare in her home for many years and was a sales person for the Fuller Brush Company. Adeline continued to live in her home following the death of her husband in 1993. She lived in the Ramona Assisted Living in Ramona, SD for about 2 years before moving to the Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, MN in April of 2007. She enjoyed making crafts and quilting for her family. Adeline is survived by her children, Violet (Gary) Coronado of Sacramento, CA, Ronald (Chris) Stitz of Palm Bay, FL, Dale Stitz of Orange Park, FL, Laurie (Thomas) Herker of Litchfield, MN, Vern (Debra) Stitz of Blaine, MN; daughter-in-law Teresa Stitz of Madison, SD; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Edmund; parents Mathias and Francis; son James Stitz; daughter-in-law Marilynn Stitz; brothers, Mathew, Joseph, Michael and Victor; and sisters, Mary, Lena, Susan, Francis and Cecelia.Previous Events
