Adeline M. Snegosky

Adeline M. Snegosky, age 90, of Litchfield, MN, died on Monday, March 7, 2011, at Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield, MN, with Father Joseph Steinbeisser as celebrant. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at church. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Adeline Mary Snegosky, the daughter of Clemens and Rose (Kieser) Westrup was born in Winsted, MN on April 7, 1920. After graduating from Holy Trinity High School in Winsted in 1937, she enrolled in the Minnesota School of Business. She completed a two year program and went to work at Citizens State Bank in Winsted. On May 4, 1946, she married Allen Snegosky. Together they made their home in Litchfield, MN. While raising eight children, she found time to be a volunteer librarian and teachersA�A�A½ aide at St. PhilipA�A�A½s School as well as assisting with various organizations such as Boy Scouts and the Blood Mobile. She also worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the V.F.W. She was an active member of the Church of St. Philip, where she was the Guild Chairman for 15 years, and on the church council and school board. She was also active in the Daughters of Isabella, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially loved the family outings to a casino. She loved caring for her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and could often be found embroidering dishtowels for the next family wedding. She was an avid TwinA�A�A½s fan and enjoyed watching the game with friends. She also enjoyed bowling, golfing and traveling. She is survived by her children, Karen (and Patrick) Buckley of White Plains, NY, Thomas (and Linda) Snegosky of Ashburn, VA, Robert (and Cindy) Snegosky of Hudson, WI, Ruth (and Peter) Ackerman of Litchfield, MN, Gail (and Ray) Doering of Litchfield, MN, Don (and Barb) Snegosky of Maple Grove, MN, Kent (and Diane) Snegosky of Litchfield, MN, and Gary (and Connie) Snegosky of Champlin, MN; 18 grandchildren, Megan Buckley, Daniel Buckley, Lisa Snegosky, Alex Snegosky, Matthew (and Tamara) Snegosky, P. Bradley (and Mariah) Ackerman, Jillian (and Rick) Calhoon, Erin (and Patrick) Forster, Michael Doering, Eric (and Stacy) Doering, Adam (and Megan) Snegosky, Kate (and Brent) Hannan, Jeff (and Char) Snegosky, Tiffany Snegosky, Jay Snegosky, Amy Snegosky, Allen Snegosky and Dane Snegosky; 6 great grandchildren, Logan Ackerman, Nolan Snegosky, Courtney Snegosky, Adeline Forster, Cal Calhoon and Ava Calhoon; 1 step great grandchild, Casey Calhoon and a brother Jerome Westrup of Winsted, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Allen; and a brother Medard; brothers-in-law, Harold Snegosky, Herb Snegosky, Bud Huber; and sisters-in-law, Esta Huber and Florence Westrup.
